Combat Basics

Flow of Battle

Run into a monster in the field or hit it with a swing to initiate combat.
If you land a swing, the battle will always start with your turn.

Victory and Defeat Conditions

Defeat all enemies by reducing their HP to 0 to win the battle and earn experience and ingredients.
If all party members participating in the battle have their HP reduced to 0, you will be defeated.
Upon defeat, you will lose some of the items in your basket and will be returned to your base.

Party

During combat, your party is split between the front row and the back row.
The arrangement of your party members can be changed under "Party" in the main menu.

Front Row

The front row actively fights monsters.
Party members on the front row can freely attack, use skills, or use items during their turns.
Up to three members can be placed on the front row.

Back Row

Party members on the back row act as reserve forces and can assist members on the front row when special TP-consuming actions are used.
If a member on the front row has their HP drop to 0, a member on the back row will step in to replace them.
Up to three members can be placed on the back row.
