The Crucible
The Crucible is a domain in which yokai hold the advantage. To cleanse the Crucible, you must defeat its innermost boss and destroy the spike that serves as the area's energy source.
Features of the Crucible
Yokai Enhancement
Yokai attacks are strengthened within the Crucible.
The attacks of yokai summoned via Summoning Seals are also strengthened.
Life Corrosion
Your maximum Life decreases when you receive damage from enemies. By defeating enemies, inflicting damage, and recovering graves, you can restore some of your depleted maximum Life.
By praying at the Six Jizo and obtaining Jizo Blessings via the Shrine menu, you can lessen your Life Corrosion.
Bodhisattva Statues
These are the Crucible's equivalent of a shrine. You cannot fast travel in the Crucible unless near a Bodhisattva Statue.
Spikes
Both inside and outside of the Crucible, you will encounter spikes that have manifested under its influence. Destroying these spikes yields the following bonuses:
- - Increased maximum Spirit Force.
- - Increased Guardian Spirit Attack and special effects that grow stronger as you destroy more spikes.
Additionally, the following bonuses are received in Lesser Crucibles:
- - The amount of Amrita floating about Lesser Crucibles may increase.
- - New Spirit Veins may be unlocked.
Crucible Weapons
Special weapons that can be obtained in the Crucible. While equipping them enables you to inflict massive damage, you will also suffer Life Corrosion upon receiving damage from an enemy.
Additionally, equipping one of these weapons forcibly assigns its Crucible Art to the corresponding command. Upon reaching maximum familiarity with the weapon, you will acquire its Crucible Art and be able to assign it as you like.
Lesser Crucibles
Smaller-scale iterations of the Crucible. While they lack bosses, enemies attack in waves. They are cleansed when their Crucible Spikes are destroyed, and do not reappear when you pray at a shrine.
