Officer Abilities

Individual officers each have different abilities and skills.
They can improve their abilities through training and learn new skills and tactics.
Officers assigned an Official Position by their ruler will have increased Loyalty, troops, and stats. If the player character is the ruler, you can freely assign Official Positions to subordinate officers above the required Rank via Official Position in Personnel commands.

Abilities

Officers have five abilities: LEA (Leadership), STR (Strength), INT (Intelligence), POL (Politics), and CHA (Charisma).
These abilities affect commands in the following ways:

LEA · Unit attack, defense, and turn order
· Effectiveness of repairs
etc.
STR · Success rate and effectiveness of certain tactics
· Power during duels
· Effectiveness of public order actions
etc.
INT · Success rate and effectiveness of certain tactics
· Success rate of plots
· Power during debates
· Effectiveness of science actions
etc.
POL · Effectiveness of cultivate land actions and commerce actions
· Success rate of soliciting and demands
etc.
CHA · Success rate of employment offers
· Success rate of goodwill, alliances, and coalitions
etc.

Train

You can train at home to improve your abilities.
During training, you will gain experience in the ability you select, and when you accumulate enough experience, your ability value will increase.
The experience you gain will greatly increase when you receive assistance from Synergetic officers in the city.

Skills

Skills have a variety of effects that can be used in cities and in battles.
Skills have types, and you will need to gain Wisdom of the same type to learn new ones.
The maximum level of skills is 3, and the higher the level, the more powerful the effect.
Wit, Treachery, Astuteness, and Dignity will only be unlocked after you upgrade all skills of the same type to level 3.

Wisdom and Learning

You can learn at home by consuming Wisdom.
Sometimes you will receive Wisdom after performing an action in a city or in battle.
Officers you build a Devoted relationship with or whose Devotion Gauges are at maximum will impart their Wisdom onto you.

Tactics

Tactics are powerful techniques that can be used during battles.
The maximum level of tactics is 3, and the higher the level, the more powerful the effect.
Spearwall, Whirlwind, Rain of Arrows, Bombardment, Infight, Revelation, and Thunderstrike will only be unlocked after you upgrade all other tactics of the same type to level 3.

Wisdom and Learning

You can learn at home by consuming Wisdom.
Tactics have types, and you will need to collect Wisdom of the same type to learn new ones.
Sometimes you will receive Wisdom after performing an action in a city or in battle.
Officers you build a Devoted relationship with or whose Devotion Gauges are at maximum will impart their Wisdom onto you.

Traits

Traits are special abilities some officers possess.
They can grant powerful effects during parliaments, in cities, and in battle.
When children are born, they may inherit the traits of their parents.

Removing Traits

Some Traits have negative effects. An event to remove Sickly can be triggered through interacting and growing closer with Hua Tuo. Events to remove other negative traits can be triggered through interacting and growing closer with Xu Shao.

Reputation

Reputation is accumulated based on your actions during gameplay.
Depending on your actions, your Martial, Cultural, or Notorious reputation will grow.
Your reputation affects the events, Tales, and endings you experience, as well as your interactions with other officers.
Some officers will refuse to meet with you if your reputation is too low, whereas a high reputation increases the number of people you can interact with and may even change the reactions others have towards you.

Main Factors that Raise Reputation

Martial Reputation · Winning duels
· Playing an active role in battles
· Completing certain requests and Tales
Cultural Reputation · Winning debates
· Successful diplomacy and plots
· Making effective suggestions in parliament
· Completing certain requests and Tales
Notorious Reputation · Engaging in revolts, looting, and slander
· Completing certain requests and Tales

Note: There are Gem effects that cause each type of reputation to increase each season.

Gems

You can expend Mettle to unlock Gems, which will grant various effects.
Mettle can be obtained by interacting with officers, increasing rank or reputation, and undergoing self-improvement at shrines.

Gems and Types

There are three positions for Gem types: Common, Status, and Support.
There can be one Gem type (one dragon motif) per position. The Common type is fixed, the Status type will change automatically to reflect your current status, and you can select one Support type. Only Gems types fitted into these positions will have active effects.
Gem types have their own slots and routes, and unlocking a slot will fit a Gem into it.

Note: Gem types set into the Support position will only show slots with decorative frames (up to 5). You will not receive effects from slots that are not displayed.

Three positions

Common Officers can receive effects regardless of status.
Status Officers receive effects depending on their status, such as ruler or free officer. As your status changes, your Status type Gem will also change.
Support You can also select a Gem via Select Support Type and set it in the Support position. You can choose one of the following Gem types: Warrior, Literary Person, Villain, or a Status-based gem other than that of your current status. For example, a ruler may choose a Strategist Gem.
Note that you can only receive effects from Gems in slots with decorative frames (up to 5).
Also, after setting a Gem as Support, you cannot change it for three months.

Slots


White slots
These Gems have effects relating to the player officer's abilities and circumstances.

Gold slots
These unlock different parliament and city commands.

Decorative slots
These bestow effects even when used as a Support type.

Unlocking Gems

Each Gem requires a certain amount of Mettle and up to two conditions in order to unlock it. If you meet all the conditions, you can simply expend Mettle to unlock the Gem in question.
However, you must unlock Gems by following a certain route outward from the center.

Note: Once unlocked, Gems cannot be removed from their slots.
