■ 作品概要
ETQWはロンドンのSplash Damageが開発したマルチプレイをメインとするFPS。
2065年，突如地球に来襲した異星人，Strogg（ストログ）と地球衛軍GDFとの戦いをテーマにした作品。
Quakeシリーズのid Softwareが監修という立場で開発に携わり、id Softwareの誇るカリスマプログラマー，John Carmack（ジョン・カーマック）氏がDOOM 3の描画エンジンを改良して作り上げたMega Textureテクノロジーが大きな特徴の一つ。
ETQWのベースともいえる「Enemy Territory」は，2001年に発売された「Return to Castle Wolfenstein」の続編としてSplash Damageが開発していたゲームで無料配布されることになった第二次世界大戦モノのマルチプレイFPS。 |
