After obtaining a certain item, access the bed in Ryza's Atelier to use Custom Combat mode.

Fi, who joins you as the story progresses, will accompany Ryza around the world. Fi can lend you power in Synthesis, Exploration, and Combat.
These effects will grow stronger as the story advances.
