The Obliteration Technique
Deals the finishing blow to enemies.
Press the following button near an enemy with dismembered limbs.

Even if they are missing an arm or a leg, enemies can still crawl on the floor to try and attack the player character. You must finish them off to prevent these attacks.
The Counter Attack Technique
Counter attack when blocking an enemy attack.
Press the button right before blocking the enemy's attack to do a counter attack.

The timing is tight, but the effects are massive.
The Ultimate Technique
Hold the button down to build up power, then release to unleash the powerful Ultimate Technique.
The Ultimate Technique can be charged to two stages. At the first stage, a blue light engulfs the player character. It is already powerful in this stage, but in the further charged second stage, the light becomes red and is even more powerful.

Essences appear upon defeating enemies or opening treasure chests. They are automatically collected upon getting close, but can not be collected while blocking.
If you absorb an essence while charging up energy for an Ultimate Technique, your energy will build up faster.
